Kiawah Island Golfing in
South Carolina

John C. Jones
Travel/Food Writer

One of the really great vacation picks to play golf in the fall (or any time of the year) is Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina, only 30 minutes from Charleston. Kiawah Island Golf Resort is the only resort in the country that has three courses ranked on Golf Digest's list of "America's Top 75 Resort Courses." Located in this beautiful costal environment golfers tee up against the creations of the masters of modern golf architecture - Tom Fazio, Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus, Clyde Johnston, and Gary Player. The prestigious Conde Nast Traveler recently listed the Resort among the top "50 Golf Resorts Worldwide."   Top picture is the Turtle Point clubhouse.

There will be no “want for variety” as one plays the diversified landscape of the five individually unique courses. Each course offers an exciting and memorable golf experience.

The Ocean Course - Host of the 1991 Ryder Cup Matches and the 1997 World Cup of Golf, the 7300 yard this course offers the most challenging golf.

Osprey Point - offers water views from every hole, and its new clubhouse encompasses over 14,000 square feet of pro shop and semi-private dinning.

Oak Point - a Scottish-American style par-72 course, challenging to both novice and experienced golfer.

Turtle Point - Host to many tournaments including the 1990 PGA Cup Matches, Turtle Point features three spectacular oceanfront holes.

Cougar Point - our completely new par-72 course, designed to championship standards that will challenge every player.

Golf packages begin at $199 per person per night and feature one round of golf daily with golf cart, range balls and daily breakfast. You will then be automatically entered for a chance to win a year's supply of Tommy Hilfiger Golf apparel. Each month, for a total of 12 months, the winner will receive one shipment of Tommy Hilfiger apparel. Each shipment will include one golf shirt, one sweater or outerwear piece, and either trousers or shorts. The total retail value of the prize is approximately $2,400 or $200 per month. In addition, the winner will receive an autographed photo of the 2001 PGA Champion David Toms.
